MID-WEIGHT INTERIOR DESIGNER
About the Studio
Dalrymple Studio is a London-based interior design practice specialising in high-end private residential projects across the UK and Europe. We are known for our thoughtful, considered approach to design — creating beautiful, liveable spaces that feel personal to each client.
We are seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Weight Interior Designer to join our studio. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and creative individual to play a key role in delivering exceptional projects as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a well-rounded Mid-Weight Designer with a minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate experience in the high-end residential sector. You will work closely with the studio’s senior team across all stages of the design process, from initial concept through to installation, on a varied portfolio of residential projects in the UK and Europe.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, technically strong, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced studio environment. Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for interior design are essential.
This is a full-time role (Monday–Friday), based at our London studio.
Responsibilities
- Manage interior architectural design elements and FF&E from concept through to invoicing, procurement, and installation, with oversight from senior team members.
- Create full project budgets and detailed estimates using EstiMac.
- Produce and present design schemes, sample boards, and client presentations.
- Produce technical drawing packages in AutoCAD and SketchUp, including furniture plans, lighting and electrical plans, elevations, details, and custom joinery.
- Source and procure new and antique FF&E.
- Prepare and manage detailed schedules and specification documents (including hard finishes, decorative lighting, sanitaryware, and window treatments).
- Liaise confidently with clients, suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
- Support on-site coordination and attend site visits as required.
Role Requirements
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design.
- Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate experience in the high-end residential sector.
- High level of proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, EstiMac, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience working across all aspects of projects from concept to completion.
- Confident in reading, reviewing, and producing technical drawing packages, including plans, elevations, electrical and lighting design, and custom joinery.
- Experience with all elements of FF&E design, specification, management, and procurement.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and prioritise effectively.
- Self-motivated; able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good financial understanding of project costs and budget awareness.
- Extensive supplier knowledge, including a good knowledge of antiques, is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to clients within the UK and Europe as required.
- Full UK driving license.
- UK residency; ideally based in London — full-time studio attendance required.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Pension contribution.
- 25 days holiday allowance, increasing with time at the company.
- The opportunity to work on a diverse and inspiring portfolio of high-end residential projects across the UK and Europe.
